Entry

Entry rules depend on citizenship. Choose a passport to see the requirement for that one.

Work and visas

The six grounds below are PURPOSES OF APPLICATION within one and the same electronic visa, not separate categories. The public visa-type reference (back.evisa.gov.ly/api/v1/visa-types) holds five types — Work Visa, Electronic Visa, Mission Visa, Visit Visa, Family Join Visa — but the availability flag (is_available) stands only on Electronic Visa; the other four are defined and switched off. The portal offers a choice of six purposes (endpoint purpose-of-visit: TEMPORARY_ASSIGNMENT, WORK, VISIT, TOURISM, FAMILY_JOINING, STUDY) and attaches no separate conditions, rights or terms to any of them. Neither the validity of the visa, nor the permitted length of stay, nor a fee, nor documentary requirements are published for any purpose; the processing time is given in words alone — «usually from a few days to a week».

Fee: The tariff is printed nowhere in the open. The public visa-type reference (back.evisa.gov.ly/api/v1/visa-types) carries no price at all, and the same reference in its user-facing form (api/v1/user/visa-types) answers 401 without an account login. In the portal bundle (evisa.gov.ly/assets/index-CSFx-HEy.js, 815 KB) the word «price» does not occur once: the only money-related strings are the interface labels «Total Amount» and «Visa Period» inside the personal account. Neither an amount nor a currency is publicly available; a portal visitor sees only a payment button leading to a payment gateway. Read 22.08.2026.

The guidance note says it outright: Libya does NOT require rabies vaccination. If the animal has been vaccinated anyway, that goes into the form, and then the interval applies — no less than 30 days and no more than 12 months before export; hence the value of the preparation-time field, which relates to whoever chooses to vaccinate. The veterinarian certifies the absence of contagious disease, including distemper, rabies and external parasites, and that the animal has been in the country of departure for at least six months. An attestation is required that there have been no cases of rabies in the country of departure other than those caused by European Bat Lyssavirus. The certificate is valid for seven days. Antibody titration, quarantine on arrival and banned breeds are not mentioned in the document. No source of the country's own on importing cats and dogs could be found, so the requirements are read from a document issued on the other side of the border, with explicit attribution: the British export health certificate (DEFRA/APHA) — a description of the receiving side's requirements drawn up for export from the United Kingdom. Some of its conditions relate to the United Kingdom itself (the animal's residence there before export, the country's status as free of rabies) and are replaced, when leaving another country, by that country's own equivalents; the values set by the receiving side, however, do not depend on the country of departure.
